And your chance to get a limited-edition Semacode tee
Well, it's been a long time in the works, but I can finally announce that Semacode has a partnership with BMW! ( original german , www.press.bmw.com%2Fpressclub%2Fde01.nsf%2FfwPressemeldungFrame%3Freadform%26docid%3D988ABFE7C9A4F6ECC12572C80042E4EE&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8">auto-translate ) We'll be working with BMW Group on the integrated marketing campaign for the new BMW 1 Series launch in Europe. To start off with, BMW has created a BMW branded Semacode reader. Download it now! ( (german edition) .
One of the nice things that BMW has done is to prepare a version of the app that's precisely formatted to fit the screen size of each of the 111 devices that they support. You can use their reader to read not only BMW originated tags but any Semacode tags.
It's a really simple download - BMW will txt you the app for an over- the-air download. And they have an insanely restrictive privacy policy, so you'll never get spammed.
Of course there's going to be a whole integrated campaign with Semacode tags in it from BMW, but I can tell you more in a month or so. It should be very cool though.
In the mean time, here's something to whet your appetite. To celebrate the BMW connection, we've commissioned the first ever official semacode t-shirt from a seriously cool French artist. I can't show you the designs yet, but it's going to be good. And limited edition. Only 200 will be made.
If you want to get your hands on one of these hot tees, follow these simple 3-step instructions:
- Build a model of a car. Any car. Any material. You can use a kit, bake it as a cake, or whatever. But if you want a good place to start make one of these kick-ass papercraft cars: official BMW papercraft cars , a smorgasbord including many Citroën , VW bus , 8-wheeled Eliica , cars for kids , or any one of the many, many more out there on the nets. Just print, cut & fold.
- Print out our special t-shirt semacode sheet onto a sticker sheet, and stick the tags onto your model car
- Submit your entry by doing two (2) things: First, (a) photograph it and send the best picture to freetee@semacode.com . And finally, (b) using the BMW semacode reader on your phone, scan the tag on your car and follow the directions there to submit your entry.
And that's it! Every friday from now until June 15 we will randomly select from the week's entries and 10 will get a limited edition Semacode tee. And we'll publish ALL of your photos on our site.
Oh wait, there's one more thing. Over the course our panel of expert judges including fantastic car experts will also select 40 of the BEST models (based on the submitted photo) to also receive a t-shirt. So the better your model (funny, cool, majorly hard to build,...), the more chance you have of getting the cool tee and of us showing off your modelling skillz to the world.
